I wrote, produced, and directed over fifty segments for Vice News Tonight on HBO. Three of them were nominated for News & Documentary Emmy Awards, and I am proud to have won two of them. But I’m perhaps most proud (and grateful) to have been able to hang out with Gilbert Gottfried before he passed.
My beat was mostly tech, though I tended to think of it more as technology writ large — less breaking news about Meta or Apple, and more about how these new tools subtly change the ways people live and interact.
Always fascinating, frequently generous, and occasionally confounding — spending time with the subjects of these short documentaries was the greatest reward.
