Mercedes-Benz

✹ ✹ ✹

Mercedes’ Berlin-based content agency came to me with a great story: A retired optometrist in LA was the rare owner of a 1962 Mercedes-Benz 300d Adenauer — a beautiful behemoth, of which 45 were ever made. The owner hadn’t touched the thing since the ‘70s, and while it didn’t run, a restorer wanted to buy it sight unseen and try to rehab it. For Americans, cars are more than just machines. They’re repositories of memory, if not surrogate family members. In this case, I was thrilled at the opportunity to document the rehabilitation of both the car and a bit of familial history.
